About
Doreen started penning tales as a child. As a teen, she lived
out her fantasies by writing short stories in a notebook.
Unfortunately, she wrote them in first person POV and spent
quite a few weekends grounded when her parents felt the stories
were too well-written to be fiction. Supported by her father in
pursuing her dream, she took every creative writing and
journalism elective in her High School then went on to obtain an
English/Creative Writing/Publishing BA from Hofstra University.
Doreen began her career in publishing while still in college,
working for Ace Books (a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster at that
time) and Doubleday.
When her youngest entered school, she pursued her dream with a
vengeance. She joined RWA and her local chapter then took
refresher courses at Hofstra on grammar, style, and publishing.
After selling her first article and short story, she went on to
sign a three book contract with Triskelion Publishing. A feature
article with Suite ezine led to her own monthly column. She
loves researching for her novels and learning all she can about
promotion and marketing. Whenever she can, she holds workshops
to help other authors hone their writing and promoting skills.
